A quick peek at Penny:

Penny is a self-taught digital scrapbooking designer living in the mid-south with her husband of 15 years, 2 wild and crazy sons (8 and 7), and a brindled mutt, Gary the girl. The boys named her after Sponge Bob’s pet snail, Gary. When she’s not designing, Penny enjoys reading, running, hiking, playing, shopping, and cooking.

How it all began:

Penny began digital scrapbooking in 2003. From the beginning she created her own brushes, backgrounds and elements since there really wasn’t much out there in terms of product and she enjoyed tinkering in Photoshop. However, Penny didn’t begin selling her designs until spring of 2006. Penny still enjoys the process after almost 5 years. Currently, her designs are sold at PennySpringmann.com and Sweet Shoppe Designs.

What’s in Penny’s stash:

Right now Penny designs away on a custom built PC with 8 gigs of RAM, a terabyte of disc space, and an Intel 6700 quad core processor. I have a Hanns-G 28″ monitor. She uses Photoshop CS4, Illustrator CS4, Artrage, a Wacom Intuos 3 Graphics Tablet, Canoscan 8800f (scanner), sharpies/pens/pencils, paint, and bits and pieces found here and there.:) If she needs to photograph an item, Penny uses her Nikon D50 or her Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS7.

Penny’s favorite products:

My favorite product is actually a line of products, my 12 Month Collection. This collection will grow each month in 2011. Since I began designing, my personal scrapping has taken a back-seat. This year I decided to focus once again on telling my family’s story. As a result, the 12 Month Collection was born. The collection consists of a massive neutral base kit that will be supplemented by individual month kits throughout the year. In addition, each month will also include 4 12×12″ coordinating templates to scrap the month’s photographs. My goal is to create my own 12 Month album, as I design the collection, giving me a completed album in December to print for myself and to give gifts! I am uber excited to get scrapping consistently again!
